Welcome to the Green Mountain Central School District website!

Academics First

First and foremost, we have a responsibility to our students to provide the best education possible and prepare them for higher education and career opportunities. GMCSD Educators are dedicated to their students and the academic experience. The school district has also provided academic resources to met the needs of our students; including those with learning disabilities and students who excel academically.

Parents of GMCSD students are encouraged to take an active role in their child's education and connect with their child's teacher to bridge communication in an effort to better the education process.

Likewise, students are expected to take an active role in their own education. This means: coming to class prepared and ready to learn, be enthusiastic and show an interest in learning, participate in class and meet the expectations of their teachers and the school district as a whole.

Personal Conduct & Accountability

GMCSD takes great pride in our schools, educators, students and the community. We expect students to act as examples and role models both in and out of school. Inappropriate will not be tolerated by GMCSD; including the use and abuse of illegal substances, such as drugs and alcohol. Failure to comply to the rules and regulations set by educators and the school district as a whole may result in disciplinary action.

Bullying

Bullying is a serious offense; no student has the right to make their peers and other students feel uncomfortable or unsafe in any way. Educators should be aware of student dynamics and report any incidents of bullying or harassment in and outside the classroom. If bullying is identified, the school district will take action to correct the behavior and hold students accountable for their actions. Students can take a proactive approach to bullying by voicing concerns for fellow students and acting in an appropriate manner.
